The land of Royalty shines through the desert sun radiating rich dazzling colors. Houses washed in indigo, like a desert maze seen from up on top of the ancient Fort.
Jodhpur surfaced in 1459 by Rao Jodha of the Rathore clan becoming the capital of the land of Marwar. Cultivating the finest soldiers, the Rajputs were ever ready to defend.
Only a Fort fit for the gods could be placed among these warriors. And only the strength of the Sun Deity could match the strength of these Rajputs.
With such beauty and grace the walls of Mehrangarh Fort, the Sun Fort, was built up high creating a Mirage in the Thar Desert. Up on top of the hills the golden carved walls stand proud housing the most elaborate enchanting palaces in Rajasthan.
Along with its rich architecture the magic of Jodhpur lies in its people. Vivid colors of red, magenta and yellow can be seen walking down the roads mysteriously obscured from sight as a multi-colored turban may pop out here and there.
All of this brings the ancient ruins to life in the midst of the desert, making Jodhpur the very essence of Majestic Raj.
