Taj Safaris' third jungle safari lodge is situated along the banks of the Banjaar River, directly overlooking the heart of Kanha National Park. The luxurious, yet lightweight, ensuite tents have been designed in a contemporary style, with pressed bamboo wall panels, gorgeous bamboo floors and locally crafted furniture hewn from the timber of exotic Indian trees.

The textiles have been designed in tones of delicate saffron and acid-washed green, with rich block-printed Madhya Pradesh cottons and silks. The atmosphere is light, ethereal and organic.



The lodge boasts two elegant camps of nine suites, each with its own intimate tented sitting area. Banjaar Tola has its own unique identity, celebrating the Bastar and Dogra art that hails from nearby Chattisgarh.

Nestled amongst 11 acres of lush Sal forest, Kanha Jungle Lodge is the perfect setting for wildlife lovers. Located near the Mukki gate (south end of the National Park) by the Banjar River, the backdrop of tall bamboo thickets accented with colorful displays of flowering trees, makes this an ideal location for bird watching or observing butterflies. Trees such as the Mahuwa, Blackberry and the Flame of the forest make it irresistible for birds such as Drongos, Tree Pies, Orioles, Minivets and flycatchers to make frequent appearances.

Along with our feathered friends, the tall grass landscape is quite tempting for mammals as they wander through our grounds. Spotted deer, Langur monkeys, Jackals, Jungle cats and Hares can be seen from time to time. Even the Leopard and Tiger couldn't resist, leaving behind their pugmarks. Offering guests a truly fascinating and rewarding jungle experience.




The Lodge believes that conservation should also be part of this experience and practices eco-friendly ways in preserving the environment.

To list a few examples the lodge grows some of their own vegetables, have over 50 species of native medicinal plants, uses solar heating and cooking systems, organic composting, rain water harvesting systems and a water management system. We also have our own natural well which provides us with all our water needs making sure our guests are comfortable and feel at home.
